Please be aware that changes have been made National Fleet Database. Under new legislation, with effect from the 30 th of November 2023 everyone with a Fleet policy or Motor Trade policy is required by law to upload their vehicle details to the National Fleet Database (NFD). This legalisation has been recently enacted in the Road Traffic and Roads Act (2023). Failure to comply with the new legislation could lead to prosecution and a fine of up to €500.
What does this mean for you?
You need to register on the National Fleet Database new website with your UID number and policy number. https://nfd.mtpl.ie/auth/fleetregistration. If you don’t know your UID number, please contact this office. Please be aware that you need two different email addresses to register on the new system.
What vehicles needs to be uploaded?
All vehicles registered to you, owned by you, or leased to you including any classic/vintage vehicles, forklifts, tractors, special type vehicles (such as diggers, dumpers, excavators, and trailers). Also, temporary vehicles in your custody or control for more than 14 days must be uploaded.
What about Stock Vehicles?
All stock vehicle in your custody, care, or control for more than 14 days needs to be uploaded. The new website allows you to upload an excel sheet with all your vehicles. It is recommended that this is updated on a weekly basis.
Will my vehicles from the old National Fleet Database automatically transfer over to the new system?
No, the old system is now obsolete, you need to register on the new system and upload all your vehicles onto the new system.
Does Mannion Insurance upload your vehicles on your behalf?
No, it is your responsibility to upload your vehicles onto the new system.
